ASTM A333 grade 6 low temperature carbon steel pipe is a low alloy steel containing 0.3% carbon and low manganese, phosphorus, sulfur and chromium content. A333 steel pipe has higher strength than other steel types, which makes it suitable for use in low temperature and high pressure environments.
ASTM A333 6 steel pipe is suitable for transporting high-pressure fluids and gases at temperatures as low as -45 degrees Celsius. A333 Gr 6 seamless steel pipe has a minimum tensile strength of 60,000 psi and a minimum yield strength of 35,000 psi.
They are typically supplied in nominal pipe sizes (NPS) and nominal wall thicknesses with table numbers per ASME B36.10M. They are typically connected with ASTM A350 LF2 flanges and ASTM A420 WPL6 butt weld fittings. ASTM A333 Gr.6 material pipes are mainly used for pipeline construction in the production of ethylene, propylene, urea, ammonia and nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers.
