MANUFACTURING METHOD

The manufacturing process of casing pipes encompasses multiple stages, including raw material selection, pipe forming, heat treatment, dimensional control, thread cutting, coating application, quality inspection, and packaging. Each stage is crucial in ensuring the production of high-quality casing pipes that meet the stringent requirements of diverse industries, ranging from oil and gas exploration to water well construction.

GNEE STEEL PIPES DELIVERED HEAT TREATED

heat treatment
The method of heat treatment of API 5CT casing and tubing is a key factor that differs for each grade. Products requiring heat treatment should undergo full-body, full-length heat treatment. The heat-treated upsetting products should be heat-treated in their entirety and along their entire length after upsetting.
Separately heat treated coupling blanks are acceptable. If the final rolling temperature is higher than the upper critical temperature of the steel being treated and the pipe is air-cooled, normalizing treatment should be performed.
If it is a welded type, the weld should be heat treated to a minimum temperature of 540°C (1000°F), or a certain treatment method should be used to ensure that there is no untempered martensite structure in the weld.

 

N80 Type 1 and Q
Steel grade N80 type 1 products can be normalized or normalized and tempered.
N80Q steel grade products should be quenched and tempered.
R95
R95 steel grade should be quenched and tempered.
L80
Grade L80 13 Cr may embrittle when tempered at temperatures below 620°C (1150°F).
straighten
R95
R95 casing and tubing shall not be subjected to stretching or expansion cold working after final tempering, except for cold working necessary for normal straightening and no more than 3% of compression cold working.
M65 and L80
Except for the cold working required for normal straightening, M65 and L80 steel grade products must not be cold worked after the final heat treatment.
C90 and T95
C90 and T95 products can be cold rotary straightened, but after straightening the pipe must be heated to a minimum temperature of 480°C (1000°F) to relieve stress. If necessary, minor gap straightening is permitted for C90 and T95 steel grades.
C110
If necessary, the product shall be cold rotationally straightened and subsequently stress relieved at a temperature of 30°C to 55°C (50°F to 100°F) below the final specified temper temperature, or shall be tempered no more than 50°F to 100°F below the final specified temper temperature. Temperatures as low as 165°C (300°F). Minor oral straightening is allowed if necessary.
Q125
Straightening may be performed by plug straightening or thermal rotary straightening, but the temperature at the end of rotary straightening shall not be less than 400°C (750°F) (unless a higher minimum temperature is specified in the order). If the hot rotation straightening method cannot be used, the product can also be cold rotation straightened, but it must be stress relieved at 510°C (950°F) after straightening. Only with the agreement between the supplier and the buyer can the product be stress relieved after cold rotation straightening.
