ASTM A789 standard specification applies to the production of seamless and welded duplex stainless steel pipes. UNS S32750 stainless steel pipe is a super duplex stainless steel containing about 25% chromium, 7% nickel, 4% molybdenum and 0.3% nitrogen. It has good formability and can be processed by hot forming and cold forming.
Compared with 300 series austenitic stainless steel or traditional duplex alloys, S32750 duplex stainless steel tubing has enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, and the duplex structure gives S32750 excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
S32750 super duplex pipe is widely used in occasions requiring high strength and high corrosion resistance, such as submarine pipelines, shipbuilding and offshore gas field production.
The use of EN 1.4410 stainless steel seamless pipe should be limited to applications below 6000°F (3316°C). Prolonged exposure to high temperatures may reduce its toughness and corrosion resistance.
