A790 UNS S32205 Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe is made of duplex stainless steel, which contains approximately equal amounts of austenite and ferrite. S32205 Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe is approximately twice as strong as austenitic stainless steel, allowing for lighter, thinner pipes.
A790 UNS S32205 duplex seamless pipe has better corrosion resistance than 316L and 317L in most environments due to its chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content. It is highly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in oxidizing and acidic solutions. The duplex microstructure of duplex stainless steel helps improve resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
