ASTM A53 is the standard for seamless and welded carbon steel pipes under the American ASTM standard. It is divided into two grades: A and B.
The main feature of A-grade steel pipes is that they are usually used for general purposes, such as force-bearing and pressure-bearing parts, as well as general-purpose steam, water, gas and air pipelines.
B-grade steel pipes have higher tensile strength and are usually used in high-pressure and high-temperature environments. It is suitable for conveying water, oil and gas, etc., and is a more common steel pipe grade.
ASTM A53 Round Pipe sizes range from 10.3 mm (1/8 in.) to 660 mm (26 in.) OD.
