Large Diameter Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe Description
Large diameter seamless carbon steel pipe is made of carbon steel, and is manufactured by perforated hot rolling or hot expansion process. It is a hollow pipe with an outer diameter of ≥76 mm. It is widely used in the fields of high-pressure fluid transportation and structural support.
Diameter definition
Outer diameter lower limit: ≥76 mm (some standards are limited to 89 mm);
Wall thickness classification:
Thin wall pipe: 1~6 mm;
Thick wall pipe: ≥6 mm (up to 200 mm).
Material composition High-quality carbon steel (such as A106 GRB, A53, Q235B steel), carbon content ≤0.25%.

Production process
- Blank preparation
Cutting of round tube billets, heating to 1200℃ plastic state;
- Piercing and forming
Tapered roller piercing machine hot piercing into thick-walled rough tubes;
- Rolling/hot expansion
Hot rolling: multi-pass rolling to reduce wall (mainstream process);
Hot expansion: expansion to 1220 mm (non-standard customization);
- Finishing treatment
Sizing cooling → straightening → flaw detection (ultrasonic/eddy current);
Surface pickling → anti-corrosion coating (such as 3PE).
