S235J2 structural carbon steel pipe Description
S235J2 low carbon pipe is a European standard structural steel material with the following chemical composition and mechanical properties:
Chemical composition: the content of carbon (C) is about 0.19 per cent, the content of silicon (Si) and manganese (Mn) are 1.50 per cent and 0.045 per cent respectively, and the content of phosphorus (P) and sulphur (S) are less than 0.045 per cent. In addition, the content of nitrogen (N) is about 0.014%.
Mechanical Properties: The material has a lower yield strength of 235 MPa, a small yield strength of 165 MPa in the thickness range of ≤16 mm, and a yield strength of 195 MPa in the thickness range of >16 ≤40 mm. In addition, the tensile strength of the material in different thicknesses ranges from 360 to 510 MPa.
This material is usually used in the production of structural steel pipe, because of its good welding performance and certain toughness, suitable for use in structures and equipment that require higher strength and good welding performance.
