DIN 17175 Seamless Steel Tube Description
DIN 17175 high-pressure boiler tubes are primarily used for heat-absorbing tubes in low-medium pressure boilers (operating conditions: working pressure generally ≤5.88 MPa, working temperature ≤450°C).
Equivalence material of DIN17175 Pipe
| DIN 17175 | China GB | USA ASME | EU EN | Key Differences |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| St35.8 | 20G | SA-210A1 | P195GH | Carbon steel, ≤450°C service |
| 15Mo3 | 15CrMoG | SA-209 T1 | 16Mo3 | 0.3% Mo for creep resistance |
| 13CrMo44 | 12Cr1MoVG | SA-213 T11 | 13CrMo4-5 | 1% Cr + 0.5% Mo for high-temp strength |
| 10CrMo910 | 12Cr2MoG | SA-213 T22 | X11CrMo9-1 | 2.25Cr +1% Mo for corrosion resistance |
Chemical Components

a: The minimum silicon content is allowed to fail below 0.10 % when the steel is aluminium-killed, or vacuum-deoxidized.
b: When the wall thicknesses ≥30 mm the carbon content is permitted to be 0.02 % higher.
Mechanical Properties
Tensile Requirement

a: A 15 N/mm² higher minimum value applies for 10 mm wall thicknesses.
b: For hot-extruded tubes the minimum value falls to 27 J.
Since DIN 17175 tubes are always used in high-temperature and high-pressure environments, understanding the 0.2 % yield limit change at high temperatures is essential to ensure the stability of the system.

a: For wall thicknesses greater than 60 mm the values are subject to agreement.
b: For wall thicknesses ≤10 mm, 15 N/mm² higher minimum 0.2 % yield limits apply at all temperatures.
