DIN 17175 Seamless Steel Tubes

DIN 17175 Seamless Steel Tube Description

DIN 17175 high-pressure boiler tubes‌ are primarily used for ‌heat-absorbing tubes in low-medium pressure boilers‌ (operating conditions: working pressure generally ≤5.88 MPa, working temperature ≤450°C).

Chemical Components

Chemical Components

a: The minimum silicon content is allowed to fail below 0.10 % when the steel is aluminium-killed, or vacuum-deoxidized.

b: When the wall thicknesses ≥30 mm the carbon content is permitted to be 0.02 % higher.

Mechanical Properties

Tensile Requirement

Tensile Requirement

a: A 15 N/mm² higher minimum value applies for 10 mm wall thicknesses.
b: For hot-extruded tubes the minimum value falls to 27 J.

Since DIN 17175 tubes are always used in high-temperature and high-pressure environments, understanding the 0.2 % yield limit change at high temperatures is essential to ensure the stability of the system.

a: For wall thicknesses greater than 60 mm the values are subject to agreement.
b: For wall thicknesses ≤10 mm, 15 N/mm² higher minimum 0.2 % yield limits apply at all temperatures.
