Chemical Composition:

The chemical compositions of S235JR and S275JR also differ. While both contain no more than 0.21% carbon, S275JR typically contains no more than 0.60% silicon (Si) and no more than 1.70% manganese (Mn), while S235JR contains no more than 0.35% silicon (Si) and no more than 1.40% manganese (Mn). Furthermore, there are slight differences in the content of phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S).

Applications:

Due to the differences in strength and impact toughness, S235JR and S275JR may have different applications.
