S275JR vs S235JR
Chemical Composition:
The chemical compositions of S235JR and S275JR also differ. While both contain no more than 0.21% carbon, S275JR typically contains no more than 0.60% silicon (Si) and no more than 1.70% manganese (Mn), while S235JR contains no more than 0.35% silicon (Si) and no more than 1.40% manganese (Mn). Furthermore, there are slight differences in the content of phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S).
Chemical Composition Comparison
| Element | S235JR (%) | S275JR (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Carbon (C) | ≤0.22 | ≤0.21 |
| Silicon (Si) | ≤0.55 | ≤0.50 |
| Manganese (Mn) | ≤1.70 | ≤1.50 |
| Phosphorus (P) | ≤0.045 | ≤0.035 |
| Sulfur (S) | ≤0.045 | ≤0.035 |
Strength Grade:
S235JR and S275JR are different strength grades. S235JR typically has a tensile strength between 360-510 MPa and a yield strength of 235 MPa. S275JR typically has a tensile strength between 410-560 MPa and a yield strength of 275 MPa. Therefore, S275JR is slightly stronger than S235JR.
Mechanical Properties Comparison
| Property | S235JR (MPa) | S275JR (MPa) |
|---|---|---|
