A252 GR3 is a high-performance structural steel widely used in construction, bridges, and machinery manufacturing due to its excellent mechanical properties and stable chemical composition.
Chemical Composition:
A252 adopts a low carbon equivalent design (Ceq≤0.44%), with the following main components:
- C: 0.18% Max
- Si: 0.50% Max
- Mn: 1.50% Max
- P/S: ≤0.035%
- Trace amounts of alloying elements such as Nb, V, and Ti are added to enhance overall performance through grain refinement and precipitation strengthening.
- Chemical composition analysis is crucial for ASTM A252 steel pipe piles and must be performed according to the test methods, procedures, and terminology of ASTM A751.
- The phosphorus content in the steel must not exceed 0.050% to ensure the quality and performance of the steel. Buyers may select two samples from each batch of pipe piles for product analysis to ensure that the chemical composition meets the requirements.

Mechanical properties
A252 GR3 structural steel pipes possess a balance between high strength and good ductility and toughness, with a typical yield strength ≥345MPa, tensile strength 470-630MPa, and elongation ≥20%. They exhibit excellent low-temperature impact toughness (impact energy ≥34J at -20℃), making them suitable for use in extremely cold regions. The material undergoes a controlled rolling and cooling process (TMCP), resulting in refined internal grains and excellent weldability and fatigue resistance.
Applications of A252 GR3 Steel Pipe Piles:
1. Building Structures: Steel frames for high-rise buildings, seismic bracing components
2. Bridge Engineering: Box girders for long-span bridges, load-bearing components for bridge piers
3. Construction Machinery: Crane booms, wear-resistant parts for mining equipment
4. Special Vehicles: Heavy-duty truck chassis, container frames
