ASME SA178A Boiler Tubes

ASTM A178 is a specification for electric resistance welded (ERW) carbon steel pipe for use in boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers.
GNEE supplies ASTM A178 boiler tubes in diameters ranging from 1/2 inch to 5 inches and wall thicknesses ranging from 0.085 inch to 0.500 inch. The minimum tensile strength is 485 MPa and the minimum yield strength is 275 MPa. The pipes also undergo strict quality control procedures including inspection, testing and hydrostatic testing to ensure they meet the required specifications.
ASTM A178 seamless tubing is used in many applications including boilers, fuel lines, heat exchangers, superheaters, condensers and feed water pipes. Made of carbon steel, these pipes can withstand temperatures up to approximately 750 degrees Fahrenheit without cracking or weakening. Due to their corrosion-resistant properties, they are suitable for use in areas exposed to the elements and will last longer than other materials.
