The chemical composition of AISI 4140 steel pipe is mainly composed of iron, carbon, chromium, manganese, silicon and molybdenum. The carbon content is about 0.38-0.43%, the chromium content is about 0.8-1.1%, and the molybdenum content is about 0.15-0.25% . This gives alloy tube A519 Gr 4140 high tensile strength, excellent toughness and good machinability, making it suitable for a wide range of mechanical and structural applications.
AISI 4140 steel pipe has excellent mechanical properties and high strength and hardness. Typical yield strength is 560MPa, tensile strength is 850MPa, and elongation is between 12-16%. This high strength gives it excellent performance in high load and high stress environments.
A519 Gr 4140 grade pipes are manufactured using a seamless process, which means they are produced without welds.
