ASTM A214 Boiler Tube
This specification covers minimum wall thickness resistance welded carbon steel pipe for use in heat exchangers, condensers, and similar heat transfer equipment.
Pipe sizes normally supplied in accordance with this specification are 3 inches [76.2 mm] outside diameter inclusive. Pipes of other sizes may be supplied provided that such pipes comply with all other requirements of this specification.
Mechanical property requirements do not apply to pipe with an inside diameter less than 1/8 in. [3.2 mm] or a thickness less than 0.015 in. [0.4 mm].
The purchaser shall indicate the outside diameter and minimum wall thickness on the order. The inner diameter should not be specified.
