ASTM A335 pipe is a seamless ferritic alloy steel pipe for use in high temperature environments.
Steel pipes specified under the ASTM A335 standard shall be suitable for bending, flanging (vanstoning) and other forming operations, as well as fusion welding. This type of steel pipe is sometimes referred to as "P-grade", with grades P11, P22, and P91 being the most common and used primarily in the power industry and petrochemical industry. Grades P5 and P9 are commonly used in refineries. Grade 1 is best suited for low temperature service, and grade 2 is best suited for high temperature service. Grade 11 is most commonly used in applications requiring corrosion resistance or high temperatures up to 500°F (260°C).
