Packaging Solution:
For the hot and humid marine transport environment of South America, we adopt the following standards:
- End Protection: Thick-walled pipe end protectors: Due to the extreme weight of a single X52 thick-walled pipe, ordinary plastic caps are easily broken. We use heavy-duty steel-framed end protectors or high-density polyethylene (HDPE) grooved caps to prevent damage to the beveled ends during hoisting.

- Surface Coating:
- Temporary rust prevention: The entire pipe is coated with black vanish paint or varnish.
- Long-term corrosion protection: For South American oil and gas projects, we provide 3LPE (triple-layer polyethylene) or FBE (fusion-bonded epoxy powder) coatings, meeting the most stringent global standards for buried or deep-sea corrosion protection.
- Marking & Traceability: Each tube has a clear API specification inkjet print and comes with a weather-resistant stainless steel label indicating the heat number, grade (X52 PSL2), and weight, ensuring accurate traceability after customs clearance and arrival.

Transportation Solutions:
Optimizing Routes and Costs (Shipping & Logistics)
The voyage from Chinese ports to major South American ports (such as Santos, Brazil; Callao, Peru; San Antonio, Chile) takes 35-45 days, making logistics strategy crucial:
- Break Bulk:
This is the most common mode of transport for thick-walled pipes. Since a single thick-walled pipe can weigh over 2-5 tons, container weight restrictions would result in significant space waste. Breakbulk shipping allows for large-volume delivery, and the use of wooden supports at the bottom of the hold effectively prevents pipe deformation due to compression.
- Container Loading (20GP/40HC):
Suitable for small batches or short pipes. We will manufacture special wooden support frames (saddles/cradles) to secure heavy-duty pipes to the bottom of the container, preventing displacement and impact to the container during transport.
- Lashing & Securing: Use specialized steel strapping for securing the vessel and insert airbags or nylon ropes between the tubes to ensure the vessel remains stable when traversing the Drake Passage or the rough seas of the Atlantic.
