A179 low temperature seamless carbon steel pipes Description
ASTM A179 is applicable to seamless cold-drawn mild steel tubes of minimum wall thickness for the manufacture of heat exchangers, condensers, and similar heat transfer equipment. A179 low-carbon steel tubes outside diameter specifications range from 1/8 inch to 3 inches (3.2 to 76.2 mm), but for A179 seamless cold drawn low carbon superheater steel pipe with outside diameters less than 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) or wall thicknesses less than 0.015 inch (0.4 mm), the associated mechanical property requirements may not apply.
