G-105 Drill Pipe
What is drill pipe?
Drill pipe is a steel pipe with threads at the end, used to connect the surface equipment of the drilling rig to the drilling and grinding equipment or the downhole equipment at the bottom of the drilling well. The main function of the drill pipe is to transport drilling mud to the drill bit and to lift or rotate the bottom hole device together with the drill bit. Drill pipe must be able to withstand tremendous internal and external pressure, torsion, bending and vibration.
Drill pipe type:
Located at the top of the drill string, there are two types: square and hexagonal.
Cooperating with the core charger and the turntable core charger, it transmits rotational torque to the drill pipe; bears the entire weight of the drill string; and serves as a circulation channel for drilling fluid.
Ordinary drill pipe: the basic component of the drill string.
Main function: transmit torque and transport drilling fluid, and continuously deepen the wellbore by gradually lengthening the drill pipe.
Weighted drill pipe: Similar to oil drill pipe, it is a hollow steel column about 10 meters long. The single weight is heavier than the oil drill pipe, and the wall thickness is 2-3 times that of the drill pipe. Connected between drill pipe and drill collar, it can prevent fatigue damage caused by changes in drill string cross-section. It can also replace part of the role of drill collars.
Features: Simple hanging, convenient tripping operation, saving tripping time.

Drill pipe can be used multiple times during the oil and gas extraction and refining process. This means that they undergo multiple cycles of these processes and maintain their structural and functional integrity.
