Raw Material Preparation: Strict Quality Control at the Source
- Raw Material Selection: Primarily using Q235B, Q345B, and other carbon or low-alloy structural steel coils. Some high-pressure pipelines use X-series high-grade pipeline steel (such as X70 and X80).
- Physical and Chemical Testing: Each batch of steel undergoes chemical composition analysis and mechanical property testing (tensile and bending tests) to ensure compliance with national standards.
- Surface Treatment: Before use, the strip steel must be cleaned of oil, rust, scale, and other impurities. Common methods include shot blasting, pickling, or chemical cleaning to achieve Sa2.5 grade rust removal standard.
Strip Steel Pretreatment: Laying the Foundation for Forming
- Uncoiling and Leveling: The steel coil is uncoiled, and a leveling machine eliminates wavy edges and bending defects, ensuring the strip steel's flatness.
- Edge Trimming and Milling: The strip steel is precisely trimmed on both sides using an edge trimming or milling machine to ensure consistent width and to process a bevel shape that meets welding requirements (commonly X-shaped bevel). Pre-bending treatment: The edges of the strip are pre-bent to make them easier to roll and form, reducing welding stress concentration.
Spiral Forming and Welding: Core Processes
- Spiral Rolling: The strip is gradually rolled into a cylindrical shape in a forming machine at a set spiral angle (usually 30°~75°). The pipe diameter, misalignment, and weld gap are controlled by a roller system to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Inner and Outer Welding: A double-sided submerged arc automatic welding process is used, with simultaneous welding on the inner and outer sides to improve weld strength and sealing.
- Welding equipment is mostly Lincoln welding machines, used with welding wire and flux (such as H08MnA+HJ431), to achieve high-quality fusion under the protection of the flux layer.
- High-end production lines use a "pre-precision welding" process (two-step method), forming first and then welding, significantly reducing welding defects and improving low-temperature toughness.
