ASME SA 333 Grade 6 Carbon Steel Seamless Pipes description
GR6 seamless steel pipes strictly adhere to the ASTM A333/A333M standard specification for seamless and welded steel pipes for cryogenic equipment, established by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). This standard details the chemical composition, mechanical properties, manufacturing process, testing methods, and quality control requirements of the steel pipes, ensuring reliable performance in cryogenic environments. The standard classifies GR6 as a -45°C cryogenic steel pipe, suitable for various industrial piping systems with stringent requirements for low-temperature toughness.

A333 GR6 Low-Temperature Impact Performance
Impact Test Temperature: -45℃ (-50°F); Impact Energy Requirement: ≥13 Joules
Test Method: Charpy impact test, specimen size 10mm × 10mm, transfer time from cooling device to impact testing machine not exceeding 5 seconds.
Maintaining an impact energy of ≥13J at -45℃ demonstrates its excellent low-temperature toughness. Actual tests often achieve 296-308J, far exceeding the standard requirement.
