Casing: Casing is the outer pipe used in oil or natural gas wells. It is usually used to fix the well wall, prevent the well wall from collapsing, isolate different formations, and protect the formation around the wellbore from contamination. Casing is usually installed into the hole after it is drilled.
Drill Pipe: Drill pipe is a pipe used to drill into the ground in a wellbore. It is composed of a series of drill pipe sections that push the drill bit into the ground by rotating and pushing, and at the same time bring the drill cuttings back to the wellhead through the pipe. Drill pipe is a tool used in drilling operations.
structure:
Casing: Typically larger diameter, thicker walled, casing is designed to withstand well pressure, support the well wall and provide a complete enclosed wellbore structure. It may come in different grades and grades to suit different environments and requirements in the well.
Drill pipe: Drill pipe is relatively small in diameter, lightweight, and its main purpose is to provide support and transmit torque to rotate the drill bit. It is usually made of high-strength materials to withstand the torsional and tensile forces generated when operating underground.
Location and installation:
Casing: Installed inside an already drilled wellbore, usually late in the drilling process, to reinforce and protect the wellbore.
Drill pipe: During the drilling process, it is pushed underground through the drilling wellbore from the upper part of the drilling tower and directly participates in the drilling operation.
