S355JR and S355J2 are two common grades in the European standard (EN10025) used to represent different grades of low-carbon alloy structural steel. These grades are mainly used as structural materials in fields such as construction, bridges, vehicles, and ships.

The main difference between S355J2 and S355JR lies in their impact toughness. S355J2 has an impact toughness of ≥27J at 20℃, while S355JR has ≥40J at 20℃. This means that S355JR has higher impact resistance and maintains better toughness at lower temperatures, making it more suitable for applications requiring higher steel performance.

The other chemical compositions, mechanical properties, and operating environments of structural steels S355J2 and S355JR are basically the same. They both have good weldability and machinability, suitable for various welding methods and processing techniques. Furthermore, both steels possess good corrosion resistance and high fatigue strength, maintaining stable performance in various corrosive environments.

Both S355J2 and S355JR square and rectangular tubes can be customized with heat treatment and processing according to specific operating environments and applications. For example, appropriate heat treatment processes can improve their mechanical properties and impact toughness, allowing them to better meet the requirements of various complex structures. Furthermore, both types of steel possess good plasticity and machinability, allowing for bending, cutting, drilling, and other processing operations, facilitating construction and manufacturing.

S355J2 and S355JR are two structural steels with excellent mechanical and machinability properties, and have broad application prospects.
