X80 pipeline steel pipe is a high-strength, high-toughness microalloyed steel specifically designed for oil and gas pipelines, possessing excellent mechanical properties and service reliability.
The "X" in X80 represents pipeline steel, and "80" indicates a minimum yield strength of 80 kpsi (kPa), approximately 555 MPa in metric units. In the Chinese national standard GB/T 9711-2011, the equivalent designation is L555, with identical performance. It primarily complies with the API Spec 5L international standard while also being compatible with domestic standards such as GB/T 9711, and is suitable for PSL2 (pipeline specification level 2) quality grade.
X80 seamless steel pipe has the following core characteristics:
1. High strength and toughness balance: Through microalloying design and controlled rolling and cooling processes, it achieves a Charpy impact energy ≥190J at -20℃, meeting the needs of extremely cold regions.
2. Excellent weldability: Carbon equivalent (CEIIW) is controlled below 0.43%, and Pcm value is ≤0.25%, ensuring stable on-site circumferential welding quality.
3. Corrosion resistance: The addition of elements such as Cu, Ni, and Cr forms a dense oxide film, achieving a critical stress intensity factor (KISCC) ≥35 MPa√m in an H2S environment.
