15Mo3 seamless steel pipe is a low-alloy pearlitic heat-resistant steel with superior hardness and toughness compared to SKD steel. This material is characterized by excellent machinability after spheroidizing annealing, high hardness after quenching, and good dimensional stability after tempering. It is primarily used to manufacture tools such as stamping dies, gauges, woodworking cutters, lathe centers, and taps, with a thickness not exceeding 8 mm.

Its chemical composition includes carbon (0.12-0.20%), molybdenum (0.25-0.35%), manganese (0.40-0.90%), chromium (≤0.35%), and silicon (≤0.35%). The heat treatment process involves oil quenching at 880-920°C and tempering at 150-200°C, achieving a hardness of above HRC60 after treatment.

Heat Treatment:

Quenching:‌ Preheat to 550°C~650°C, then heat to 800~850°C and quench in oil to harden.

Tempering:‌ Heat to 150°C~200°C, hold at this temperature, then cool in still air.

Hardness:‌ Above HRC60.

Annealing:‌ Heat to 750~800°C, hold for one to three hours, and then allow to cool slowly in the furnace.
